Join the Edmonton Childrens' Mbira Ensemble pilot project. A 10 week course for children 6-12 years old. Participants will have the opportunity to:

• Learn a new instrument: Your child will be taught the basics of mbira playing. Your child will also have the opportunity to learn other accompanying instruments such as hosho (shakers/maracas), magabvu (feet shakers), cow bells and wooden blocks.
• Learn up to 3 traditional Shona songs from Zimbabwe
• Learn words of a new language or increase their skill in it
• Make new friends
• Be part of an ensemble and a performance in August 2013.
• Learn to play with their parents at no extra cost!

Lessons will start in smaller groups which will increase in size as performance date nears!
